Growing interest in the Greek real estate market has created a necessity for updates to digital property value maps. To cater to this need, the Greek Ministry of Finance is slated to implement significant improvements to the existing maps platform. Come 2025, users worldwide will have convenient access to detailed real estate data in Greece through mobile devices and computers, making property data available anytime, anywhere.

The platform upgrade addresses the significant interest in Greek real estate from both local and international users and will feature maps with information on property location, size, infrastructure, commercial activity, zoning values, and valuation factors. Property and urban planning information will be kept up-to-date through a specialized geospatial tool, “Urban Planning Data Update by Municipalities.”

A tax bill outlines that, with joint decisions by the Ministries of Economy, Finance, and Digital Governance, specifications will be set for the platform’s technical requirements, integration with public information systems, data validation, property valuation algorithms, and data processing methods.

Furthermore, a Real Estate Data Registry will be established, pooling information from sources such as the Cadastre and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue, to include contract prices, rental values, property characteristics (e.g., land use, proximity to points of interest), and other value-impacting data.

Through these new digital tools, citizens will be able to:
– View zoning blocks, road networks, administrative divisions, and points of interest overlaid on geo-referenced maps from the National Cadastre.
– Navigate interactive maps.
– Access estimated property values for specific locations of interest.

This comprehensive system will enable the Ministry of Finance to track market trends closely and adjust official property values in real time to better reflect market prices.
